Earlier this month, I got a call from a young woman who recently got engaged and was interested in booking an engagement portrait session with us. Suri & Ruben wanted to retrace their engagement night by taking images in all the locations Suri passed through on her treasure hunt to the couple’s final destination where Ruben proposed. In addition to having a romantic story to tell, Suri and Ruben are a photographer’s dream to have as clients as they are both so obviously photogenic and game to take on any pose.
Suri and Ruben, it was a real pleasure to meet and work with you! Congratulations on your engagement and all the very best to you both!
Below are some of my favourite shots from their session. If you are family or friends of the couple please contact them directly for the password in order to view their complete web gallery.

This has been a terrific summer so far! I can hardly believe that it’s mid-July already. Sorry about taking so long to update the blog…lately, it’s been back-to-back shoots and endless days of post-processing. We have several projects in the queue, and I can’t wait to show you more of our new work!
Recently, Sean and I got to spend some time with Leanne, Paul and their two dogs, Luke and Uma. We shot the couple’s engagement session at Little Mountain off-leash park, where the four of us took a stroll while Luke and Uma enjoyed a full hour of excercise. I loved shooting this couple’s engagement session. They were both fun-loving, easy-going, and game to take on any pose…not to mention that they look super cute together! We’re looking forward to working with them again on their wedding day, later this year!
I thought I would share one of my favourite shots from this session below. If you are friends or family of the couple, please contact them directly for the password in order to view their complete web gallery. I’ve stamped the image with our new logo. We’ll try our best to have the blog completely updated before we post again. In the meantime, I hope you’ve had a chance to visit our new website at www.twinklereyes.com. Hope you’re all having a great summer. Please keep in touch!

It’s been a very hectic two weeks for us. As many of you are already aware, Sean and I have made the decision to move out of our Arthur Street studio, and are currently in the process of designing and building our very own.
We’re also transitioning to a new web gallery provider, as well as designing our new logo and website. They are almost ready to be released! In the process, we haven’t stopped shooting, and thank our clients from the bottom of our hearts for their patience and understanding.
We shot Lily & Elwin’s engagement session the week before we had to move, so it took us a little longer to post their images. The early evening session was shot at Harbourview. The weather that week was perfect, so we were anticipating some beautiful evening light. Instead, we got the calm before the big storm…but that didn’t dampen this happy couple’s spirit, and we managed to capture some great shots.
Web gallery will be posted soon, I promise. In the meantime, thanks again to Lily & Elwin. We are really looking forward to working with you two again later this month!!!

Michael and Myra (now Mr. & Mrs. Valmonte) couldn’t have picked a more beautiful day to get married. Every detail of this wedding was perfect.
A moving ceremony was delivered by Monsignor Samson at St. Peter’s Church. We followed the ceremony with photos at the church, Legislative Building grounds, and finally St. Boniface Cathedrale.
Lesbia Sediles and her husband Tan, of Bodas Savvy Weddings, did an exceptional job coordinating the wedding day, and decorating the Skyview Ballroom that placed almost 600 guests. As usual, Gil Bueneventura of Floral Designs by Gil did an absolutely beautiful job with the flowers.
Below are some of my favourite images from the day. If you are family or friends of the couple, CLICK HERE to be informed when all of their pictures are ready for viewing.
Thank you again to Mike and Myra. It was a real honour to witness your union, and a real pleasure to be asked to document your day!

We got to spend some time last Sunday afternoon with Hayden, and his mom, Toni.
Toni called us to book a portrait session to celebrate Hayden’s first birthday. He’s one of the most easy-going, and happy children that we’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. He recently learned to walk so we spent our time together strolling through Stephen Juba Park.
Toni wanted some black and white shots, so we kept that in mind while shooting. Below I’m including some of my favourite shots from this session. Hope you like them too!
Thank you again, Toni and Hayden!

What a delightful time we had on Wednesday afternoon – strolling through the Forks Market and shooting the engagement session of Sherry and Tom. With only a couple of months until their wedding day, we were happy to have some time with them to catch up on their plans, and to experiment with poses.
I’ve included some of my favourite shots from this session below. Hope you like them!
Sean and I are very excited to work with this beautiful couple again soon!

In recent years, we’ve seen the evolution of our waterfront. Stephen Juba Park has been a favourite outdoor location for many couples on their wedding day. With access to the river, wooded area, and the older buildings on the outskirts of the exchange district, the waterfront has been one of my favourite locations to shoot engagement sessions.
Fans of black and white photography, Roberto and Emilia looked great against the backdrop of the area. With their wedding just around the corner, we are so happy to be able to share some of our favourite shots from their engagement session…and of course, we’re very excited to work with them again soon!

We were so happy to welcome the beautiful Divincenzo family into the studio this week to capture their family portraits!
Below are some of my favourite images from the shoot:

Johnny and Jena’s wedding was the first event that we shot in 2009. Some of you might remember seeing their photos and story featured in an earlier edition of Weddings in Winnipeg.
A little after their one year anniversary…we got a phone call from Jena proudly announcing the birth of their beautiful baby, Isabella.
Congratulations to the Simoes family!!! It was great to see Johnny and Jena again, and to meet their little one.
Here are a few of my favourite shots from our session together:

For the past few years, I’ve shot events wearing fashions created by my dear friend and local designer, Andreanne Dandeneau. These nature-inspired, Earth-friendly garments are 100% Canadian-made right here in Winnipeg. Each piece can be made one-of-a-kind with the addition of painted art, signed and dated by Aboriginal artists. Her clothes are sold in boutiques nation-wide.
We were so happy to have the opportunity to work with Andreanne on the photoshoot featuring her Spring/Summer 2010 Collection for her catalogue and promotional materials. Also featured during this shoot was jewlry by Bijoux, footwear by The Shoe Doctor (El Naturalista), and make up by Mariana Canadas of Rituals.
Congratulations on this beautiful collection, Anne! Sean and I wish you much success this year.
I’ve included some of my favourite images from the shoot below. For more information on Andreanne, please check out: Voila by Andreanne. And stay tuned to see the gorgeous pieces from her Fall/Winter 2010 line!
