It’s time again that we feature another Real Wedding Story, generously submitted by our clients and friends. This month, Leanne & Paul share the details of their beautiful engagement and wedding day with us.
It’s always such a pleasure to work with a gorgeous, fun-loving couple and of course their warm and lively bridal party attendants.
I’m also very happy to be able to post some shots from their engagement session, which you’ll find at the end of this post.
Thanks again to Leanne and Paul – great big hugs to the both of you!!!

How we met:
We met at a mutual friend’s house before going to a Social (the classic Manitoba love story).
The Engagement:
After two years of dating, Paul and I planned a weekend at my family cabin in the White Shell. My birthday had been two weeks earlier, and Paul said that he had an extra present for me waiting outside on the deck.
Pre-Wedding Events:
I made it very clear to my Maid of Honour, who is also one of my three sisters, that under no circumstances should there be a surprise bridal shower. My reasoning for this was simply: because I rarely put a lot of effort towards choosing outfits, or doing my hair and make-up, so if I’m showing up to a house full of friends and family I’m going to need a heads up. Well, she took my request and threw it right out the window. I was thoroughly surprised when I showed up at my Aunt’s house to pick up something for my mom and walked right into my surprise bridal shower. And because I spent the day mucking around the Interlake looking for decorative branches, my fear of not looking my best was realized.
The bachelorette party started off with pole dancing lessons at Studios in the Exchange. This is so much fun, and if ever you have the chance to take a class, do not hesitate!
Paul’s bachelor party was a weekend camping trip to Hecla. And because all the guys in attendance conveniently didn’t take a single picture and have not shared a single story, that’s all I know about that weekend.
The Wedding:
The ceremony and the reception were held at the always beautiful Pineridge Hollow in Birds Hill Park. The staff are friendly and helpful, it made planning the whole event a breeze. The food was amazing!
Unique Touches:
Our centerpieces were hand made scrapbook style, self-standing, cards that included pictures of me and Paul, along with our favourite poems, and lyrics.
Bridal Wisdom:
Relax and enjoy the day! Roll with the punches and don’t sweat the small stuff. It was said to me throughout my engagement, but it is honestly the best advise I could give.
Also, Paul and I had all our pictures taken before the ceremony, which is not the traditional route, but I am so glad that we did. It allowed us to relax and have a good time with our wedding party.
Photographers:
We will be forever grateful to Twinkle and Sean for all the amazing pictures they took. The moments that they captured, and the fun and creative ideas they brought to the day were more than we thought possible. They flawlessly orchestrated the day, making sure we got the shots we wanted and helped keep us on schedule. They did all this work and still managed to be so much fun! Thank you Twinkle & Sean for all the work you did to help make the day everything that we hoped it would be. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
