Jessica and Chris are a couple that managed the trials of a long distance relationship while they were in University. Having recently graduated they have chosen to start their lives together in Winnipeg, with a fall wedding at Terrace 55. We are very excited to be capturing their wedding day on Sunday!
Below is a preview of their engagement session. Hope you enjoy!

We sure enjoyed the time with spent with Colleen & John last week, strolling through the new and very improved Kildonan Park and shooting their engagement session. For those of you that haven’t visited the park lately, it’s worth the trip just to see the improvements that our City has made throughout. If you are currently planning your wedding photography, you might even be convinced to consider it as a possible location for your shoot on wedding day.
Sean and I are really, really looking forward to working with Colleen & John again on wedding day later this year! Below I’ve attached some of my favourite shots from this session. If you are friends or family of the couple, please contact them directly for the password to access their complete web gallery.

Earlier this month, I got a call from a young woman who recently got engaged and was interested in booking an engagement portrait session with us. Suri & Ruben wanted to retrace their engagement night by taking images in all the locations Suri passed through on her treasure hunt to the couple’s final destination where Ruben proposed. In addition to having a romantic story to tell, Suri and Ruben are a photographer’s dream to have as clients as they are both so obviously photogenic and game to take on any pose.
Suri and Ruben, it was a real pleasure to meet and work with you! Congratulations on your engagement and all the very best to you both!
Below are some of my favourite shots from their session. If you are family or friends of the couple please contact them directly for the password in order to view their complete web gallery.

This has been a terrific summer so far! I can hardly believe that it’s mid-July already. Sorry about taking so long to update the blog…lately, it’s been back-to-back shoots and endless days of post-processing. We have several projects in the queue, and I can’t wait to show you more of our new work!
Recently, Sean and I got to spend some time with Leanne, Paul and their two dogs, Luke and Uma. We shot the couple’s engagement session at Little Mountain off-leash park, where the four of us took a stroll while Luke and Uma enjoyed a full hour of excercise. I loved shooting this couple’s engagement session. They were both fun-loving, easy-going, and game to take on any pose…not to mention that they look super cute together! We’re looking forward to working with them again on their wedding day, later this year!
I thought I would share one of my favourite shots from this session below. If you are friends or family of the couple, please contact them directly for the password in order to view their complete web gallery. I’ve stamped the image with our new logo. We’ll try our best to have the blog completely updated before we post again. In the meantime, I hope you’ve had a chance to visit our new website at www.twinklereyes.com. Hope you’re all having a great summer. Please keep in touch!

It’s been a very hectic two weeks for us. As many of you are already aware, Sean and I have made the decision to move out of our Arthur Street studio, and are currently in the process of designing and building our very own.
We’re also transitioning to a new web gallery provider, as well as designing our new logo and website. They are almost ready to be released! In the process, we haven’t stopped shooting, and thank our clients from the bottom of our hearts for their patience and understanding.
We shot Lily & Elwin’s engagement session the week before we had to move, so it took us a little longer to post their images. The early evening session was shot at Harbourview. The weather that week was perfect, so we were anticipating some beautiful evening light. Instead, we got the calm before the big storm…but that didn’t dampen this happy couple’s spirit, and we managed to capture some great shots.
Web gallery will be posted soon, I promise. In the meantime, thanks again to Lily & Elwin. We are really looking forward to working with you two again later this month!!!

What a delightful time we had on Wednesday afternoon – strolling through the Forks Market and shooting the engagement session of Sherry and Tom. With only a couple of months until their wedding day, we were happy to have some time with them to catch up on their plans, and to experiment with poses.
I’ve included some of my favourite shots from this session below. Hope you like them!
Sean and I are very excited to work with this beautiful couple again soon!

In recent years, we’ve seen the evolution of our waterfront. Stephen Juba Park has been a favourite outdoor location for many couples on their wedding day. With access to the river, wooded area, and the older buildings on the outskirts of the exchange district, the waterfront has been one of my favourite locations to shoot engagement sessions.
Fans of black and white photography, Roberto and Emilia looked great against the backdrop of the area. With their wedding just around the corner, we are so happy to be able to share some of our favourite shots from their engagement session…and of course, we’re very excited to work with them again soon!

Rosie and Al asked us to meet them on Sunday morning at St. Vital Park to shoot their engagement photos along the duck pond trail.
This is a special location for Rosie and Al, who went skating on the frozen pond for their first date.
We were fortunate to have booked this enagement shoot while the January weather here in Winnipeg was still so unusually mild. We enjoyed spending time with Rosie and Al, and look forward to shooting their wedding day this summer!

There has been a lot of buzz around our skating trail lately due to the anticipated event featuring The Warming Hut: an Exposition of Art and Architecture on Ice. The skating trail winds along the Forks Riverwalk and is a very popular gathering place for friends and families on warmer winter days.
My family and I live a walking distance of only 10 minutes away from the Forks Market and have made it a regular destination for both our running route, and for our weekend grocery run. However, because we don’t skate, we’ve never actually been down as far as the skating trail, so it was a real pleasure to meet Christine and Ryan there to shoot their engagement photos. This gorgeous couple wanted a fairly casual and fun photo shoot at a location outdoors where they could go skating, but also provided for some indoor spots for more warmer options. The Forks was perfect.

It’s hard to believe that November is here already. What a whirlwind couple of weeks it’s been here at the studio!
This time of the year has us working day and night at trying to fulfill all of our album and product orders before the Christmas deadlines. Not to mention that we’re still pretty busy shooting – weddings, engagement sessions, family portraits, maternity sessions, and even a few corporate profile/headshots.
It’s a lot of work, but well worth the effort! We’re very proud about the end result – every book and every product is unique to each client.
And just when the stress of the season starts to weigh heavy – a special kind of client sweetens the load. Last Friday I met with one of our recent brides, Rachel (of Rachel and Bobby), to deliver some of her after-products. What a surprise it was when she handed me a white box with a pretty green ribbon and said, “This is for you and your family. Thank you for putting up with all of my phone calls and email messages. Make sure Mark gets one because you didn’t let him eat the cookie from our wedding”.
The story behind the cookie from her wedding is that it was a party favour, with our names on it. Those of you that know me, also know that I hold a special place in my heart and in my studio for all of the thoughtful party favours, thank you cards, and letters that we receive from the events that we shoot.
I opened the box and in it, there were 4 of the cutest cupcakes and they sure were yummy! A great big hug and thank you again to Rachel and Bobby for your thoughtful gift. Of course I took a picture of them!

Hope you all had a great Halloween weekend. I’ll be posting more of our work soon, so please keep in touch!
