Doug and Mariko’s wedding and reception represent a blending of Filipino and Japanese cultures and traditions within our Canadian mosaic. Doug and Mariko’s ceremony was held at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Parish with a terrific luncheon reception at Brix Restaurant and Wine Bar.
One of the many highlights was the Kagami-biraki (Japanese tradition of the smashing of the sake barrel during a celebration).
The late afternoon photo session took place at Jericho beach, with the west coast setting sun and mountains as the backdrop.
Congratulations Douglas and Mariko! We wish you both many, many years full of happy memories together.

We encourage all our clients to make use of their engagement sessions to incorporate some significant part of their lives together into the shoot. It may be bringing a pet along or a location that has meaning to the couple that will not be part of the wedding day.
John and Jamye spent many evenings on dates at Baked Expectations and they wanted to start their Osborne Village shoot there. Because it was a damp and chilly evening, we strolled through the village finding a few other great indoor locations.
Our recent trip to Vancouver provided a great opportunity to hold an engagement session with one of our 2010 couples in their hometown. Marjorie and Richard chose to have their engagement pictures taken at beautiful Stanley Park, which provided a terrific backdrop for the two ex-pat Winnipeggers.
The couple and their dog, Oscar, gave us a wonderful start to our Vancouver work and we are excited about photographing their 2010 wedding back in Winnipeg!
Photographing Rachel and Bobby was a special pleasure for me as it brought me back to a location that was not only special to the bride, but to me as well. Rachel and I are both alumni of St. Mary’s Academy and the school interior and grounds served as the main location of the couple’s photo shoot. After 15 years, we finally got to see what was hidden behind the doors of the second floor!
The reception took us to the St. Boniface golf course for more pictures and a wonderful evening of performances.
